GOOD MONSTER
“Monster” Midian Crosby has been creating killer makeups for more than 20 years. On set makeup is where she excels the most in her craft. She has worked on over 30 feature films,, on television series, commercials and special events . She earned her degree in Industrial Design specializing in special effects at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Midian owns the award winning special effects company Monster Makeup FX. She specializes in special effects makeup, creature fabrication, props and HD airbrushed makeup.
Midian is passionate about her work and about passing on her knowledge to those interested in learning special effects for fun or profit. When not working on media projects she teaches special effects and makeup out of the Monster Makeup FX studio, and is a guest artist and speaker and instructor at various institutions.
Select projects include MANHUNT (Apple TV), GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL 3 (and XMAS SPECIAL), STRANGER THINGS S4, THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE, THE WALKING DEAD, COP CAR with Kevin Bacon, the multiple award winning feature film Motivational Growth, the twisted tale of a reclusive man and The Mold in his bathroom with Jeffrey Combs, and the feature EAT, A story of a girl who finds herself, then eats herself from Pretty People Pictures.
SHE IS EXCEPTIONAL IN THE LAB, HOWEVER, ON-SET MIDIAN TRULY COMES ALIVE.
“I sent her to complete a progressive makeup effect for a scene in TALES FROM THE HOOD in Louisiana recently and she did a great job representing our company on set. She prepped the prop ahead of time then applied a series of prosthetics progressively. We intend to use her shop and on-set skills again.”
